Australian winemakers are facing problems

The company vine Australia states that the average annual production of the wine industry is about 45 billion Australian dollars. In 2019, the export of wines from more than 1/3 was just to China. This year, Australia sold more wines to China than to the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada combined. However, this changed in the second half of 2020.

In December 2020, wine exports fell to almost zero, for which many began to pay decently. Australian winemakers do not know what to expect from excess wine and the losses associated with them.

Australian winemaker Jarrad White told CNN: "By mid-2019, we had sold more than 96 percent of our wines to Chinese consumers, up to seven million bottles a year. We haven't sold a single bottle since. "

Australia is the 5th largest wine producer in the world. But now it has to take hold elsewhere than in China, which can be a big problem for many. Some winemakers want to expand overseas, India, Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan. The last hope for Australian winemakers is Australia's new free trade agreement with the UK, which could open up new opportunities for traders.
